Back Garden Retreat

Following the owners’ request for an outdoor sanctuary and extended living space, Gardens to Love designed and built this arbor, fireplace, and stairway. The former garden allowed no access to the upper level, denying the owners to take full advantage of their garden.

The project included restoring the back garden, where only key trees and shrubs were allowed to remain. Roses, ornamental grasses, and wide variety of perennial plants helped bring the garden back to life. Significant drainage and grading work had to be completed ahead of the installation. The result is a handsome wooden arbor perched proudly above a horse shoe lawn, with beautiful views across the garden and back to the main house.

Woodland Garden

The owners of this Buckhead garden wanted to extend the living area of their yard.  Mark Richard Fleming of Gardens to Love worked with the owners to produce a plan which would meet their objectives, using sustainable materials and planting. The transformation is amazing. A difficult, wooded slope becomes a green, open lawn framed by a handsome Tennessee Field Stone retaining wall and hardwood trees.  Laurel hedges were planted to anchor the deck to the new scheme and native Azaleas are planted beyond the wall. Boxwoods and Hydrangeas are repeated in the foreground.

Swimming Pool Garden

Gardens to Love worked with the owner of this stunning Brookhaven garden, which included a new swimming pool and remodeling of a summer house, to produce a planting plan which would compliment the new architecture. A scheme was developed using a carefully selected palette of white (Owner’s favorite color) flowering trees and shrubs. White-flowering Lagerstoemia indicas accent the swimming pool, while the summer house is framed by Boxwoods and arching Podocarpus “Maki”. Hydrangea ‘Emile Moulliere’ with its showy white flowers is repeated along the terrace. The scheme is extravagant in its simplicity.
