A word from Marcia

The world is an uncertain place and thanks to what Alvin and Heidi Toffler call the Third Wave Information Economy, a lot of it seems to be just outside my front door!

My principle defense against this has been more and more to claim my personal surroundings as sacred space. I am surprisingly fortunate to have more than one roof to put over my head and they are all very different in look, feel, and location. And they have all become sacred spaces.

Because of who and what I am naturally, my garden and its design is a vital part of this sacred space. The places I create for myself and help create for others go beyond the desire to simply create beauty, they serve as much needed refuge. It's about balance and psyche and maintaining peace and joy in my life. Winter work, heaving pruning and shaping, moving and adding plant material, mulching, designing and laying out new plantings, all must be done if we are to maintain that sacred space.

I take my role as co-creator of these spaces seriously, as I our clients and friends who make it possible. Please get in touch with us if we can help you with your garden design.
