New Year, New Musings …

Before the holidays, I spent a week in London where the darkness closes the day down by 4p. Regardless of the daylight hours, I always look forward to and find inspiration in London's urban gardens. There, garden fashion is embracing ornamental grasses, Golden Acorus, and the like, a smattering of evergreen bushes, and sadly, few flowering ornamentals. The landscape press is full of articles about regenerative practices, which I completely endorse.

Degradation of the natural world is all around us.

Gardens need to be seen as havens, not just for all of us, but for other species, whether plants or animals. I want ever greater diversity and complexity, and less plastic.

Cheers to a healthy, natural world in your garden.
